 Kennels
The Boarding Kennels consist of the following :
15 Standard Kennels with internal sleeping quarters measuring 8 feet by 6
feet. We supply the dog beds and vet bedding. There is gas central heating
and each unit has an external covered run measuring 12 feet by 8 feet.
5 Standard Apartments, which are semi-luxury rooms measuring internally 12 feet by 11 1/2 feet. These
have lino floors, radiators, window, dog bed and vet bedding (which we
supply). Each unit has an external covered run measuring 11 1/2 feet by 6
feet.
4 Luxury Apartments which have the same dimensions and external covered
run as in the Standard Apartment described above, but also have a
television, radiator, window, 3 1/2 feet by 6 feet single bed, duvet, etc.
One of the rooms is covered by a webcam.
Owners are welcome to bring along their own bedding, toys,
etc.
Music is played 24 hours a day to relax the dogs and to
minimise any anxiety.
Vaccinations
It is imperative that all animals that are boarded are
fully vaccinated and proof of this will be requested on arrival for
boarding. Failure to provide this will mean that your pet will not be
permitted to board at our premises.
Main vaccination against distemper, parovirus, hepatitus,
parainfluenzu and leptospirosis : dogs normally have this vaccination in
two parts - one at 8 weeks old and then at 12 weeks old. This is followed
up each year with a booster.
We also insist on the Kennel Cough (infectious bronchitis)
vaccination and this must be administered at least 10 days prior to
boarding. There are a number of vaccines available for this, some lasting
3 months, others a maximum of 6 months. The bordetella bronchiseptica
organism is one of the key causes of infectious bronchitis. There are
several other strains of kennel cough, but these are mild compared to
bordetella. Kennel Cough is very contagious and difficult to control, and
can be particularly dangerous to older dogs and puppies.
Diets
Aeolian House is sponsored by Eukanuba and Iams Pet food.
Unless specified this is what your dog will be fed. Dogs with special
diets must be provided by the owner.
Aeolian House is also a retailer for all of the Eukanuba
and Iams pet foods. Please order food one week before collection.
Exercise
All dogs are exercised morning and afternoon, Monday to
Friday inclusive. At weekends and bank holidays, the dogs are exercised in
the morning only.
All dogs have their own exercise area.
Dog Creche
A limited number of spaces exist for the dog creche. After
an assessment, your dog may be exercised with other dogs that are here for
the creche, dependant upon their social skills. The creche is ideal for
owners who both work all day.
